"Life is always a series of unfair ratios. All we can do is strive to create situations that work in our favor. The things we are born with, the starting points we’re given—those are beyond our control. In UNFAIR RATIO, everything feels out of place: the irregular dimensions of the ping pong table, the mismatched sizes of paddles, and players from vastly different weight classes. Yet, the athletes still give their best, undeterred by the imbalance. This work reflects a desire to embrace the inherent unfairness of life and find a way to endure it with resilience—even with a sense of humor—within the boundaries we’re given."
